Electricity
The two EU countries use 230V at 50Hz with type C and F plugs (European standard). Travelers from regions with 110–120V systems should bring a voltage converter along with the appropriate plug adapters.
EtiquetteWhen traveling across these regions, greet people with a firm handshake and maintain direct eye contact. Use formal titles in professional or initial meetings, transitioning to first names only when invited. Punctuality is strictly valued—being even 5 minutes late without warning is considered deeply disrespectful (especially in Germany). Personal space and privacy are deeply respected; keep your voice down in public spaces and on transportation. Dress modestly when visiting churches, cathedrals, or historic sites. Showing an active appreciation for local traditions, learning a few basic phrases, and following strict recycling and environmental practices are highly valued social norms.
AccessibilitySome historical tours, old town cobblestone districts, and nature excursions are not fully suitable for mobility-restricted travelers. However, many operators can accommodate special requests with advance notice. For detailed structural accessibility info, please contact our customer support team.
