EtiquetteWhen traveling across these regions, greet people with a firm handshake and maintain direct eye contact. Use formal titles in professional or initial meetings, transitioning to first names only when invited. Punctuality is strictly valued where being even 5 minutes late without warning is considered disrespectful. Personal space and privacy are deeply respected; keep your voice down in public spaces and on transportation. Dress modestly when visiting churches, cathedrals, or historic sites. Showing an active appreciation for local traditions, learning a few basic phrases, and following strict recycling and environmental practices are highly valued social norms.
